Operation Triangle Badge
Hello Everyone!
A quick update on the operation triangle event. We have 8 places up for grabs for the event on Saturday 22nd November. If you would like to enter the event, please let me know!
Priority will be given to those who have been attending recent events and to those who attend the skills events over the next two weeks.
If you would like to enter, please email Rob and let us know!
This week, we will be doing some practice of night navigation techniques (both theory and practical) before doing some more practice on Ashdown forest next week.
The Ashdown forest practice will also be a good warm up for the district wide game.. More details of this soon!

Remembrance parade

A quick personal thank you to those 6 Explorers who gave up thier time on Sunday to attend the remembrance parade in Ticehurst.
I am very proud to associate myself with Avery Explorers. Your attendance and respectful attitude reminded me why I volunteer my time to help run the Unit.

A massive thank you to those of you who staffed the Dunloran park firework display!
A message from Groombridge Scouts, who needed the help:
"I would just like to send my personal thanks to the 6 Explorers from Avery that attended the Tunbridge Wells Round Table Fireworks this evening. They were great guys who behaved in a mature and professional manner. A great credit to Scouting, Avery Unit and they should be very proud."

Help needed at Tunbridge Wells fireworks display

Boom!
Groombridge Scouts desperately need help for the Firework Display at Dunorlan Park, Tunbridge Wells.
Our tasks for the evening? To help staff the gate early on, counting numbers into the park. Once the gates close, you will be free to go and enjoy the fireworks (without needing to buy a ticket).
Here's the good news:
- You get free entry into the event - usually £6
- If you are doing D of E, this should count towards your community service
- We will be helping out a fellow scout group in the Ashdown district
- It will help us to work towards our fund-raising target of £250 before Christmas
If you can make this, PLEASE DO!
You will be required to be onsite from 17:00, to ready for the gates which open at 17:30
