Kayaking on Bewl Water

27 Jun 2008

Kitted up and ready to go!

Many thanks to the Bewl Water Canoe club who kindly let us use thier equipment for an adventure on the water!

Led by our own, fully BCU qualified, coach Annie and with perfect weather to be on the water, the Avery team set off for a kayaking adventure

Most of us don't have much experience on the water, so it was great to learn some of the basics. These include... How to sink, how to capsize, how to paddle in circles and how to get stuck! Anyone would think the coaches were trying to teach us how to hold a paddle, paddle forwards, stop and control direction.

Someone had the bright idea of splashing the coaches and soon paid for thier mistake with a thorough soaking.

We don't think anyone managed to stay dry, so we think everyone enjoyed themselves! What fun would it be, if you stayed dry?

Next week? Survival cooking! See you then!
