Survival Camp Out

I think we should drive past Ray Mears's house, just to get in the spirit before heading out into the woods!

This spirit of the event this week is 'survival' as we continue to build our skills. The threat, I mean opportunity, of a full on survival style camp is increasing as the ideas continue to float about!

So what is the plan?

  • Head out into the woods and build a shelter to sleep in. Bring your own stuff!
  • Cook some dinner, backwoods style. (So no pots and pans!)
  • Make some fire to entertain and keep you warm
  • Celebrate the end of term!

Notes:

  • This is meant to be fun, fair weather activity! If the forecast is poor, then the event may be cancelled.
  • We expect most of you are veterans at shelter building and cooking, at least this is what you keep telling us! If you would like any advice, please don't be afriad to email and ask!
  • You are welcome to bring a tent if you don't fancy building a shelter. If anyone needs to borrow a tent, email Rob
  • If you need 'backwoods' cooking ideas, the internet is a great place to start. Our favourites are 'sausage on a stick', 'spatchcock chicken', 'fish in wet newspaper' (strickly, the newspaper is cheating) amoungst others. Again, if you want to know what to bring, please email!

See you friday night!
